Et tu, Harriet?

If this article, suggesting Harriet Harman is promoting herself as a potential successor to the PM, is true, it represents a degree of personal betrayal and disloyalty that I find breathtaking, given that Harman spent the whole Deputy Leadership election portraying herself as the candidate closest to Brown.

Ministers should be using their spare time to canvass voters in Glasgow East, not to canvass the PLP in pursuit of their own ambitions.

Best not to believe everything you read in the Mail. I didn't even realise there was a vacancy....

Sounds like a rubbish made-up story to me, Luke. I wouldn't draw to attention to that kind of thing in the Mail, to be honest.

I reckon Jacqui Smith would make a good stop-gap leader (providing she'd be willing to reposition us centre-leftwards): she's nice, and very much normal - not like Gordon or Harriet, who is synonymous in the public mind with inane and stupid 'equality and diversity' training courses - which contribute nothing to real equality. However, in the long term, bring back Clare Short!

Couldn't be worse than Brown. He has got to go. Otherwise, a Tory majority of 150 at the next election.

Harperson will be worse than Brown. – Its like the Tories sending for Michael Howard afore the election of 2005.

Everything she preaches toward others she reneges upon herself. Nobody outside your party itself likes her one jot!!

Her “do what I tell you because I know best” statements, rankle to the point of Nausea!!!

Harperson as prime minister?

You'll be Lucky to return 100 M.P.s in the 2010 election.

The late Gwyneth Dunwoody described Harman as “One of those certain, particular women who were of the opinion that they had the God given right to be among the chosen.

And doesn’t this show of outright disloyalty, prove Dunwoody’s point entirely!!

I can feel the Tory blogsphere whetting their appetites right now..

Although......
