My columns this week both looked at the council election results:
Labour actually won a seat in the Sutton Coldfield part of Birmingham. I think this is the very first time that the Conservative Party has ever lost an election here since the town was added to Birmingham in 1973/4.
The Daily Telegraoh reported that the Labour Party had last won a predecessor ward in 1945!!!
