More Hazelites
The Blears bandwagon appears to be rolling, with 2 more MP endorsers today - Paddy Tipping (Deputy Leader of the House) and Stephen Ladyman (Transport Minister)
Helen Southworth, Rob Flello, Anne Snellgrove, George Howarth, Christine Russell and Adrian Bailey have also endorsed Hazel since I last wrote about this.
I understand there are a couple more names imminent and some of the bigger ministerial guns will be making their position clear as we get nearer to the start of the campaign.
More than one Westminster source has told me that the number of Hazel's MP supporters is now in the 50s and growing.
Expect some meat in terms of policy too, once the 3 May elections are out of the way.
3PM Update
Barry Gardiner MP added as endorser.

So come on Luke, what's Hazel's excuse for rewarding the MP who talked out the agency workers' bill with a PPS job?
That was truly disgraceful.

He already was a PPS...for Harriet Harman. After Pound's resignation over Trident he moved to Hazel and Harriet appointed Helen Goodman as her PPS

Three things Luke.
1. Do you think that both Blears and Harman will get on the ballot paper? And I assume you think Hazel has the most support among MPs of those two?
2. If the May results are a bit of a disaster, won't Hazel have to take a big share of the responsibility as party chair?
3. Does it concern you that her much promoted deputy leadership merchandise was produced in a non-unionised Bangladeshi sweatshop?

Henry
1. All I know for sure is that Hazel is definitely going to be on the ballot paper. She clearly has enough support. And yes, I think more than Harriet.
2. Hazel has been campaigning for the elections as much as anyone but can hardly be held personally responsible for the results. If it wasn't for Hazel's energy aas Party Chair, galvanising the activists, we'd probably be further behind in the polls.
3. To the best of my knowledge, the merchandise is produced in Germany!!

didn't all the candidates promise to not campaign during the local/welsh/scottish election period. I had an email from Peter promising not to, and we haven't heard a peep from him since. What's going on with Hazel?

I don't understand why Hazel didn't support the agency workers' bill.

If she has 60 supporters, then she should put them all on her website - I am sick of candidates talking about private support. All we know is what is public - Hain has 32, Blears has 25, Harman has 33, Benn 3, Johnson 12 and Cruddas has not released any names.
