Question Time
Observations on last night's BBC1 Question Time:
- the wrong Miliband was being touted as future Labour Leader. Miliband (E) comes across a lot more impressively than Miliband (D).
- much as it pains me to say it, Iain Duncan Smith gave the most cogent and heartfelt defence of our involvement in Iraq that I've heard for a long time.
- isn't the Commons a better place without the ghastly Baroness Tonge?

We were obviously watching a different programme. I have blogged about this, too. I thought Ed Miliband was utterly appalling. So did the QT audience.
It's probably just that he was nervous. I don't wish to be unpleasant.But my TV screen was yet again in mortal danger as this New Labour clone came out with the same old arguments for the same old policies which people hate.Des Browne, Iraq, pensions, Gordon; Yes, they were really cheering him to the rafters weren't they? All I can say is that if you think he is PM material then you are utterly deluded. The good people of Liverpool were clearly far from impressed. Jan Ravens from Dead Ringers would be a better bet in Number 10.

And ... if there were a Baroness Tongue in the Commons I'd have to say ... Baroness Tongue? No! ... there never was a Baroness Tongue in the Commons Luke ... bicameral ... though her empathy with the Samsonite poor of Gaza was like a breath of fresh air when she was simple old Spinning Jenny ...

Baroness Tonge may have gone but Anne Main has arrived and, gosh, isn't she cross?! A true joy to watch her steaming with righteous indignation at PMQs (one of her efforts is available to watch on her fantastic web site - how vain is that? A shame they haven't got the one of her spitting with fury about 'young mums' having to go five miles to have their babies.).
