Lib Dem contempt for the electorate
It takes a fairly unique level of contempt for democracy to do as the Lib Dems have in Liverpool and within minutes of hearing that the electorate have flung them out of power, creep back in through a dodgy backroom deal with a defector.

Lib Dems with no political morals.
I'm suprised you are suprised.
I live in Leeds where they basically do what the Tories tell them to just to have a glimmer of power.

And what a defector!
his is Cllr. Nadia Stewart - a member of the very left-wing Stewart family, who are strong backers of Robert Wareing!
I used to live in the ward she represents - before she was a councillor. I recall having arguments at meetings as to how appalling the Labour party was back in 96, because it was so right wing...and now she opts to join Liverpool's LibDems?

So, if there is a hung Parliament after the next election, clearly you have no interest in a coalition. Better that the LibDems support the Tories?

Except they weren't flung out of power. I know Labour made gains but I don't call Libs 45 Labour 39 much of a flinging.

You don't really expect to camouflage the loss of over 300 council seats with sour grapes about one ex-Labour defector do you?

Certainly not, but why stand one 'ticket' then immediately swap after the election unless you are a coward?
