Can we really trust the government of the country to a man who chains his bicycle to a bollard so short that a thief can just lift the whole chain over the top and walk off with the bike?

The true sadness is that people can't leave their possession lying around without fear of it being nicked. Who's been in charge while society's morals crumbled in such an alarming manner?
David Cameron even had to report the theft online... probably couldn't find a real policeman out on the beat to whom he could report the theft of this "priceless possession".
This also highlights on Labour is driving us out of our cars and failing to provide adequate resources by way of public transport and secure cycle facilities.
Not so nice when people can spin news stories to be anti-Labour... is it Lukie boy!?!?
p.s. I'm no Tory supporter and will never feel the need to vote that way.

Clearly you are not a cyclist Luke.
On the way home from work you need to pick up bottle of milk/wine/bag of onions. The actual transaction will take just a few moments , although you can never guarantee the queuing pattern. To fully secure your bicycle would probably take longer than you would spend in the shop. Personally I just stick it in the entrance to the shop and keep my fingers crossed that the many light fingered individuals who populate my area will be somewhere else for those few crucial moments.
I have sympathy for David Cameron. He now understands as so many of the rest of us do , that we live in a society where, if you put something down for a few minutes there are those who consider it a right - nay an obligation - to take it.
He may have lost his bike but at least he hasn't lost a 20,000 majority in Glasgow East.

Of course bike thefts were unknown in the Conservative Utopia that existed before 97, and obviously will vanish again with the glorious victory of El Dave.

Luke you really are sinking to the depths to try and pick fault with the opposition leader.
It is very sad that in this day you can't leave a bike unchained without some toe rag taking it. In france you can leave a wallet on a towel on the beach and I'm 99% sure you will come back to it without someone nicking it....it wouldn't last 5 mins in the UK.
Can I also point out that David is actually cycling which is more than you can say for Brown, Prescott etc etc etc.

dave h - tories or not, no one says bikes weren't stolen before 1997, it's just we were promised the utopia of tuff on crime tuff on the causes of crime innit. To try and link the ability not to have one's bike stolen with the ability to run a country as Luke the idiot attempts is pretty risible.

Personally I'm shocked that no one has made an issue of the fact that Cameron shops in Tesco (an odious company that Hackney Council is just about to get into bed with - as they plan to destroy central Hackney).
Yet at least Cameron attempted to park his bike properly. Here in Hackney most people just seem to dump their bikes on the pavement outside shops (ignoring the fact that people need to walk past).
An MP's suitability for leadership shouldn't be based on whether he parks a bike properly. However, it should be based on whether he wants MPs to be accountable (e.g. the John Lewis list, expenses, etc).
