That massive Tory conference poll "boost"
ICM has done the first post-Tory conference poll.
The Tory "boost" is a mighty +1%, compared to a +7% rise for Labour after our conference.
And that was before today's headline-dominating reshuffle.

Your point is Luke? Considering Labour are still about 10 points behind Conservatives in the polls, I would keep quiet on this topic!

And I think you'll find that Labour dropped 2% too - not huge, but better than nothing. Can't wait to see what the Mandelson decision will bring. I think it's a sign of Brown's weakness (but then I would) but we'll have to wait and see.

Its like when the Imperialists invaded Iraq and took the Major cities, Saddam's Minister for propaganda said Iraq was winning the war and holding firm defending the Cities-Even when lost with Imperialist flags flying. I suppose how ever bad it gets you must not lose your optimistic outlook. So what if the Tories are on a 10% lead if we reduce that by .5% we are on the right track. With Mandelson around the Tory lead could go up to 15%?

Do you think the voters will be happy with the reshuffle?
I wouldn't be If I was a Labour voter. What on earth happened to the Labour party for it to end like this.
Millions of Labour voters will probably not vote at all come the next general election. Brown has completely betrayed the left of the party and in all honesty I can't really see why they removed Blair....Brown is following the same New Labour policies that got you into this mess.

The comment Rich made is correct-What was the point of removing Blair?
All the Blair cronies are back in-This is tragic and the voters are going to turn their backs on LP. The LP membership will drop down.

Well obviously Brown was never interested in pushing forward the Labour ideology, he was interested in power.
Right from the day when Brown lost the leadership challenge with Blair, Brown has been plotting to remove his boss. Reports of him having tantrums in cabinet meetings are obviously true as this is what you would expect from a man who is so obsessed with power.
Brown realizing that people don't really understand his vision he has returned to the ideals that took Blair into power.
So much for the millions of hard working people who's money got Labour elected. All that matters is power.

It was a big mistake not putting John McDonnell in as PM.

Personally I was a Late John Smith fan....he got Blair elected.

John Smith perhaps would not have been so corrupt as the NLP now!!

Headline-dominating yes - for all the wrong reasons, as far as Labour are concerned.

The Tories will have an easy job if they get back in-They have no Coal Miners to fight or Steel works to close down-The NHS is virtually privatised through the back door-Railway private Franchices re-newed by NLP?

The Tory "boost" is a mighty +1%
In other words, their lead has gone up, in spite of not being top billing on the news all week, unlike Labour durning their conference.
Hardly something to crow about...
