Is it any wonder the Boston (Holbeach) is now BNP. This region has been swamped by immigrant labour and this is the result. Every British worker in this area has been undercut and many work for way below the min wage due to the lack of enforcement.

My sister works with a lot of BNP supporters and they are all middle class people working for an oil giant and receive excellent pay and conditions.

Explain that then, Rich.

Obviously then Boston is full of middle class oil moguls. The fact is the fens has been one of the worst places for migrant workers due to large scale agriculture and processing.......the result reflects that and has very little to do with racism and everything to do with people feeling angry about jobs and wages.

"Is it any wonder the Boston (Holbeach) is now BNP."

Holbeach is not in Boston, it is a separate town 17 miles away in South Holland district.

A ward in Holbeach did have a BNP councillor for a period when a Tory defected to them, but he lost in 2007. The ward which the BNP won on Thursday is in the town of Boston itself.

The Boston result appears to be the outcome of very weak showings by all the conventional parties - which clearly isn't being replicated everywhere but appears to be a characteristic of BNP success.

The migrant workers concerned are likely to be from the EU and so have a right to be here. Of course, locals could take the jobs on offer, but its pretty clear they don't want them given that they are and always have been, low paid and seasonal.

As we are not about to leave the EU, there will continue to be some migrant workers in the UK
