Will need to stick an imprint on this post as it relates to the council by-election where I'm agent - Stoke Newington Central.
Nominations have now closed and there are 5 candidates:
Matt Hanley, Green (who is on Twitter here: https://twitter.com/MattHanley proclaiming that "I'm well chuffed - over 15 Hackney Green activists out, leafleting ward almost complete, SNC canvassing putting the shits up Labour!". Interesting language for a candidate for public office, and er... no you didn't. (main theme of leaflets - Greens are second in this ward)).
Patricia Napier, Conservative (main theme of leaflets - printed on green paper - Tories are second in Stoke Newington area, if you happen to include 2 wards from Stamford Hill)
Karelia Scott, Lib Dem (main theme of leaflets - Lib Dems are second in this constituency)
Nusret Sen, Direct Democracy (Communist) Party (no leaflets so far but picture of Stalin on party website here: http://www.directdemocracy4u.org/ENG/index.php gives you an idea of general ideological millieu he's coming from, as do party slogans listed on the Electoral Commission website:

Defeat the bourgeoisie - present day barbarians
Fully automated-continuous production, transportation, communication
Make machines slave to men
Party of Direct Democracy - of abundance
Party of proletarians - of communists
Party of Stalin - of building communism

However, he got 504 votes in Haggerston Ward in 2002 as an Independent, so not to be sniffed at.
And last but not least:
Louisa Thomson, Labour
It's looking like being a lively campaign, lots of posters up already from different parties, lots of activists of all parties out campaigning this weekend despite the bitter cold.

Sounds like you are getting worried about Nusret Sen the democratic Communist candidate, as he does not support the barbaric torture in Guantanamo and the Slaughter of innocent Civilians in the Gaza?

a) it's a council election about what the parties will do in Hackney, not what they will do on defence or the Middle East
b) the candidate is deciding the messages - I'm just the organiser. I doubt she shares my positions on those subjects.
c) our literature also has to reflect the policies of the Hackney North Labour Party, where I'm probably in a minority of one on all the issues you mention.

Luke is doing an Obama, and refusing to comment on the Gaza situation.
The delusion, it's out of this world!
People are dying and Luke thinks some crappy by-election in Seven Sisters is more worthy of comment.

I think you'll find people vote for what you stand for and principles that resonate with theirs - you have none. Too busy slagging off people who have GOT principles,and the respect of their own community, and afraid to condemn the massacre in Gaza aren't you?

It's not clear whether your acerbic comment is responsible, but the Green Candidate's Twitter has stopped twittering since yesterday. People are saying that his main website is out of date and wondering why he seems to have stopped bothering.
