Fair play on redundancy pay
Labour's affiliated unions have been running a campaign about up-rating the cap on statutory redundancy pay - Lindsay Hoyle MP has a Private Members' Bill on this up for Second Reading this Friday.
Earlier this week they asked people to get in touch with them to let them know why they're supporting the campaign for fairer redundancy pay. They've put them into a short video message:

I agree completely, about time Labour started to talk about the real issues around the workplace.

This campaign must be fully supported. If you are made redundant and have 10 years service you would only end up with £3.500 which is an absolute insult, because of the £350 cap!
Redundancy should be frowned upon and discouraged, companies should be forced to pay a minimum of £5,000 for every years service!

The fact is it is too cheap to make someone redundant in the UK. I'm sure companies would think twice about getting rid of staff is there were large financial penalties.
I'm seeing many companies in my area that have seen record profits yet are still making redundancies.
This is why we have a Labour government and this is what people expected from a Labour government.
Act now while you still can.
