I love this 'swing to conservative' stuff. Only under such an absurd system -first-past-the-post, would a party who actually DROPPED percentage share be described in such a way. When are we going to get rid of this rotten system?

Maybe when Labour get round to reading their 1997 Election Manifesto LOL

I can just picture the scene in Downing Street - "Oh blimey! Look guys, I've just cast a glance over our previous manifesto and you'll never believe this, but, we were supposed to have brought in a fairer voting system under PR by now"

"OMG! How did we miss that?"

"Dunno, Spect its 'cos we is such a bunch of lying Bar Stewards"

all fall about laughing, until they realise what's going to happen to them at the GE - then all fall about crying.

On a more important note this council seat is in the Cheadle Constituency which once upon a time was one of the Conservative Party's strong holds in the North West.

Judging by the current activity or should that be lack of by Cheadle Tories they will probably not regain their seat this time.

During 1979-1997 had we had PR the Tories would never have had such a majority!

During the reign of the Tories many Labour MP's were campaigning for PR!

Why has Labour failed the electorate in bringing in PR?
