The Labour share of the vote in Hackney was the 8th highest in the country:
1 Newham 40.28%
2 Knowsley 38.37
3 Leicester City 37.00
4 Tower Hamlets 35.40
5 Aberavon 34.94
6 Blaenau Gwent 34.80
7 Rhondda 34.67
8 Hackney 34.15
9 North Lanarkshire 33.82
10 Merthyr Tydfil & Rhymney 33.69
The Green share of the vote in Hackney was the 4th highest in the country and the highest in London.
Hackney also saw the 2nd lowest UKIP share of the vote in England and Wales (after Haringey), the 6th lowest BNP share of the vote, the 8th lowest English Democrat share of the vote and the 5th lowest Libertas share of the vote.

The BNP issue is important, but not the be all and end all!
The real problem is another Tory government in 2010. The Anti trade union laws passed by an almost Fascist government in the 1980's, that have been maintained by these New Labour clowns will give a Tory government something to build on and extend! The bosses will be given even greater powers and even if there was the chance of a Labour victory only a few small concessions such as the minimum wage would be maintained.
The real battle is against the major parties, who can get into power and make our lives a misery!
We need to build on a workers party!

What the top two Labour-voting constituencies of Merthyr Tydfil and North Lanarkshire have in common is Keir Hardie. He was MP for the former and born in the latter. How dare you slime-balls on Hackney Council compare yourselves with that saint of a man.

I was disappointed, but not surprised to read http://www.hclc.org.uk/page1.htm that our caring, sharing friends at Hackney Labour have cut Hackney Law Centre's funding from £190K to £100K.
So much for being champions of the disadvantaged.

I wouldn't be proud...the place is a dumping ground for transients.
It is really funny how quickly Labour changes its spots. They talk about the conservatives cutting public services yet here we have a Labour government debating 10-20% cut in NHS spending. And also the idea of rationing healthcare depending on age.
We have spent billions on two wars and bank bailouts yet you want us to accept cuts...you must be joking.
