Ed Miliband

This blog was already part of the Ed Miliband fan club after his impressive speech (earning a standing ovation) at Labour Party Spring Conference in 2008.

Even more so after the political courage he showed with his announcement on new nuclear power stations yesterday - good to see someone taking the not necessarily popular but correct decisions needed to tackle climate change.

Political Courage?

On the day I listen to the service of Remembrance for the passing of the Great War veterans I wonder if the word "Courage" is applicable.

If this maladjusted and frankly weird individual had any courage he'd demand Brown stands down for the benefit of others.

All others...

I disagree with his view on this issue. It makes me less likely to vote Labour next time.

Read Dieter Helm before noting acts of political courage on energy. This isn't even close to providing the political and regulatory framework (not to mention guarantees to pick up the tab on waste) to get new nukes built.

EDF will however be cracking open the champagne. BE now appears like a very good (one might say) monopolistic bit of business. That decision was a great piece of 'political courage' from Darling on that occasion.

That said, Miliband (the younger) is good news for Labour. Can't disagree with that.
