Fighters and Believers needed here
Great new PPB from Labour, the first to feature Michael Foot (and Herbert Morrison's Hackney committee rooms) for some time ...
As Nick Robinson pointed out on Monday the PLP divides into fighters, quitters and plotters: http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/nickrobinson/2009/11/plotters_quitte.html
I wish the quitters and plotters would both quit and let the fighters get on with taking on the Tories. A precondition of even the slightest chance of victory is preparedness to go down fighting.

Why does the Labour Party put it about that it gave women and the working class the vote? It did no such thing: these were mainly done under Tory or Tory-dominated Governments.

Because it was the first and most consistent supporter whereas the conservative party was effectively the only real source of opposition?

Because Labour members fought for years to extend the franchise while Tories did their level best to restrict it.

Which is why Thatcher was the first female Prime Minister.
Mind you the Leader of the House, that Countess Toff Harriet Harman I agree has done well in the Labour party.
More council houses were built under the Tories as well and less illegal wars started.
Tories also lied and took us into Europe the twats....

Make History: Make Caroline Lucas the 1st Green MP at Westminster
Should we be doing something to help as the election looms?
* What can we do to convince people not to vote Labour - and not with their heads and hearts - for fear it will 'let the Tories in.'
* And what can we do on the ground to help the campaign?

Why is it Brown's Labour party can't get anything right?
"If Brown's in - Labour's out" elsewhere on this blog is absolutely right.
Luke if you have any sway in the party use your influence, work the phones and get this electoral liability out.

On a more general point - I quite like the film. It goes off a bit at the end with all the 'true Brits' and 'for Britain' and flag-waving stuff because I just think most people find that quite patronising (you will vote for me if I mention your country and show your flag enough times...) But on the whole, I find it refreshing to see Labour's history embraced as a positive for the party rather than simply to be presented as something to be distanced from which - sometimes - it appeared to be under Blair.

Agreed it is too late for plotting unless you really want your party to lose. But perhaps it is certain MPs that see their jobs going next year so they are just letting more water onto a sinking ship.
It's not about winning or losing it is about delivering a promise remember.
