Tory Cash
The Mirror has been running a great investigation into how much the Tory front bench will personally benefit from their policy of raising the inheritance tax threshold for the very rich to £2 million.
A blog by Luke Akehurst about politics, elections, and the Labour Party - With subtitles for the Hard of Left. Just for the record: all the views expressed here are entirely personal and do not necessarily represent the positions of any organisations I am a member of.

1 They gain nothing, it was always their money.
2 Are you suggesting this measure was motivated by personal gain
,seriously ?
3 Is this not actually an attempt to start class war the eternal last chance card of dying Labour government?

A casual observer might suggest that the Conservatives were signalling the start of their own class war by announcing this measure to redistribute wealth in favour of the richest in society.
Of course, said casual observer would have to be fairly stupid not to have noticed the class war already happening every minute of every day, everywhere throughout the world...

Luke - what about Kinnock and Co - they are millionaires from public money from Europe.
At least these guys earned or inherited their money - it was never from money destined for other uses like schools and hospitals etc.
You are saying that public servants should become mega rich from our taxes.
Elsewhere you praise the NHS yet seem happy that Labour "Lords" can divert millions from it to get rich.
Luke you have a weird sense of right and wrong. Shame on you.

I am reminded of comments made by Alf Garnett in 'Till Death Us Do Part' in which he declared the Tories virtually incorruptible on the grounds that they are mega-rich. The expression 'class war' is straight out of the Sean Hannity Lexicon of Retarded Political Thinking. You'll have to do better than this, guys!

Arnold is that you?

I wonder though why the prospect of this policy derailed Labour's plans for a November 07 General Election. Maybe Mr Blair spoke in favour of the policy. Or Mr Woodward. Or Mr Mandelson. Or maybe it was Bernie Ecclestone again. Or Alan Sugar. Or the Kinnocks.

So what about Emily Thornberry, Labour MP for Islington South?
At the last count, she has a property portfolio with a value of about £3m to £4m.
Do you think for one fucking moment that this individual, with a pensions legal expert as her hubbie - Patrick Nugee, QC, no less - is not going to end up paying absolutely fuck all in inheritance tax.
NuLabour. NuLies. NuBlair. NuShit. Everyone's in it to fuck someone over.

Luke are you on the fiddle yourself which is why you think it's OK for Labour MEP's to get rich on the backs of decent law abiding taxpayers?
Well? Are you fiddling disability allowances or what?
We should know Luke.

Why the hell should anyone pay taxes when they are dead?
Ban all inheritance tax now - these twats tax you enough when you're alive although at least Labour doubled the threshold to £600000.
Well done GB I say!

My God Luke- you've hit a nerve with this one.
The deranged spluttering of your right wing loony brigade is in full desperate force here.
All we know about Cameron is that his folks can raise a couple of million just by selling a painting - so clearly he wants the whole piece of that estate for himself.
Apart from making himself mega rich while he makes the rest of homeless and jobless (just like when he was Lamont's chou chou) his only other definite policy is to let his pervy pals satisfy their bloodlust in the woods

And just think how much the Bliars are worth. Lied about WMD and responsible for thousands of innocent lives, now coining in the millions - no wonder Thatcher said Blair was her greatest legacy!
5:20 pm, November 26, 2009
But are they still promising these tax cuts....latest data from Cameron says def not.
All plans for tax cuts have been abandoned due to the massive deficit created by Brown.
Do you know that Labour are planning a £100 million worth of cuts...I personally would like to know the details of these before the next election.
I fear the public will not like the outcome who ever wins.

What has the Blairs wealth to do with Tories voting themselves massive personal cash hadnouts from the state till?
What has WMD to do with this or indeed the thousands of lives of Kurds, Marsh Arabs saved by Blair in the invasion of Iraq?
Is "Bliar- WMD" going to be the Tory fottsoldiers defence for everything, however irrelevant?
