First batch of leadership nominations
The first batch of leadership nominations have been posted on the Labour website. I believe this will be updated twice a day. http://www2.labour.org.uk/leadership-2010
Ed Miliband is so far the only validly nominated candidate:
Ed Miliband: 35 MP nominations
David Miliband: 19
Ed Balls: 4
Andy Burnham: 1
Diane Abbott: 0
John McDonnell: 0
10 Comments:
I guess many MPs weren't in London today.
Maybe tomorrow we will have a more telling update.

You might enjoy this, as a Miliband-endorser and a doorstep campaigner.

Miliband's, Balls or the Abbott for leader is a bad idea-its best to clear out all the New Labour clutter as these candidates will look clones of Blair & Brown.
John McDonnell can save the Labour party vote for him?

Brown should have stepped down and let John McDonnell stand as PM that year. Brown has not changed from Blair's awful arrogant leadership style and actions. The trouble with Labour is they have been trying so hard to get a better class of supporters & Voters and ignoring their long term Voters/supporters, who are leaving it in masses.
Labour should ditch all these right wing cronies and fascist policies and let Jeremy Corbyn and John McDonnell take over!

Bloody Hell !!!
"Labour should ditch all these right wing cronies and fascist policies and let Jeremy Corbyn and John McDonnell take over!"
Labour led by LINO's ?
Nice to see those who kept Thatcher in power crawling out of the woodwork.

Sad to see that those who lost us millions of votes by carrying out Thatcherist policies still dare to show their faces.

Well I am still here, will you Labour in Name Only be ?
I doubt it ! Equating Tony Blair with that woman descibes how out of touch Labour Left Forum is.

Erm, yes, we're obviously all still here. 'LINO' (borrowing clichés off American Republicans - how apt) or not.
And failing to see the similarities between the Conservatives and New Labour shows how tragically out of touch you are with Labour members and voters.

This is an old, old record. There were always going to be people who were more interested in accusing comrades of right-wing deviationism and "fascism" in show trials than in pulling together to challenge the National Government. I suggest these sad relics of the 1980s should be left to get on with attempting to shaft the Labour Party on their own. It's not their party anymore, if ever it was. And they know it.

LINO is a pretty good description of Tony Blair, I'd have thought.
It's also amusing that it's the left that always gets accused of 'living in the past' but the right that seems to want to bring it up all the time, over and over again. For some people, it is forever 1979, or 1983, or even 1930. And it ain't us.
