Good Sunday for the left
Good results yesterday for Labour's socialist sister parties in both the Spanish General Election and the French local elections. Congratulations comrades!
Spanish conservatives also increased their share of the vote in the election. To form a government the Socialists will be making a pact with the Catalan Nationalists!!
Like most European countries the Spanish system has a degree of proportionality, so an alliance with the centrist Catalan party is quite acceptable.
Its a good result from a a party which has certainly not embraced all the creeds of Blairism!
The French socialists need to sort out their leadership. Bertrand Delanoe should be elected as leader - he is sharp and intelligent and has done a superb job in Paris. No Blairite he either.

"Labour's socialist sister parties " I'm surprised you are using the word socialist as a reference to Labour. Is this some sort of a joke.
ReplyDeleteFunny how the s-word is acceptable elsewhere. Likewise "comrade." What a pity Luke can't be so comradely with his comrades on the left at home
