A blog by Luke Akehurst about politics, elections, and the Labour Party - With subtitles for the Hard of Left.
Just for the record: all the views expressed here are entirely personal and do not necessarily represent the positions of any organisations I am a member of.
I dont support the former Iraq Regime. But where does our interference without UN approval and idea of regime change end? Whos next, iran, Sauid Arabia, North korea?
The only opposition to the War in the UN were from Countries with an obvious vested interest who were trading amssively with Saddam, i.e. France and Russia. The impersonation of UN mandate of being somehow neutral makes you look incredibly naive.
The UN isnt neutral. As we both know the US, Russia, France, China and Britain vote for their own interest.
But if we are going to have an international body, we have to respect what it says and go through the proper procedures.
Have you forgotten that we had the UN in Iraq looking for WMDs, and suprise suprise they couldnt find any. So what did we do, attack! If your going to support regime change then lets go to Iran and Saudi Arabia.
Looks like a bad night for the Lib Dims in a lot of places.
ReplyDeleteGot any posts about your justification for the Iraq war? I'd like to read them.
ReplyDeleteWhich Baathist policy did you approve of the most the gassing of Kurds or the murder of the 'disappeared'?
ReplyDeleteLooks like a Bad night for New Labour.
ReplyDeleteIt also amazes me how you create a blog, make comments and dont even bother to defend.
Are you one of those bloggers who acts like they know whats going on but yet isnt able to defend any points being made?

Personally I'd love to say I had any faith in the UN. It's nearly as pointless as the League of Nations.
ReplyDelete...because of warmongers like you who invade regardless of what they say.
