NEC nominations close

Nominations for the NEC closed on Friday.

I ended up being nominated by 83 CLPs (84 if you count Tower Hamlets Borough Party as its 2 component CLPs).

Many thanks to all the CLPs who nominated me, the number of nominations exceeded my most optimistic expectations.

My incumbent running mates Peter Wheeler and Ellie Reeves have done even better, with 132 and 181 respectively.

  1. 83/84 looks good compared to previous years' totals for future winning candidates

Peter Wheeler got the same exact number of nominations of 2008. Reeves is way up.

Will there be a general round up with all other candidates totals?

  2. I don't think we'll get the complete list for all candidates until it is published with the ballot packs in September. From Twitter I think John Wiseman has 27, Susan Press 17 and Johanna Baxter 65.

  3. Thanks Luke.
Paul Waugh on twitter says Ken has 235 CLPs (and that Ann Black is the candidate with the second highest nominations total)

  4. That sounds about right. Both get crossover nominations from CLPs that otherwise back non-GRA candidates, in same way Ellie gets cross-over nominations in other direction.

  5. Actually I have 27 nominations.

  6. Apologies Susan, I was just about to correct that after seeing your blog.

  7. I'll be voting for a range of candidates and giving priority to those NOT on a slate if such a thing exists this year

  8. "Paul Waugh on twitter says Ken has 235 CLPs (and that Ann Black is the candidate with the second highest nominations total)"

In fact Ken has the second highest total and Ann Black has 274 nominations.

Any idea what the other 4 on your team have got?
