A plea to the Labour Party

There are several thousand Labour Party activists in London with no elections on 3 May.

That's a huge campaigning resource which if mobilised could be critical to the outcome of some nearby councils that do have elections.

No one from HQ has communicated with us to tell us where we need to go and work, or where there are phone banks we can volunteer at.

People with friends outside London have organised day trips to campaign for them - I'm taking a group to my old stamping ground in Castle Point.

But can someone at HQ just do an email with the contact details of the nearest key council organisers and what help they need and send it to the "all London members" email group?

It will take you 5 minutes to write & send and could deliver a great boost to the councils where help is really needed.

Plea over.

Luke

Emails have gone out to members in South and West London asking them to help in local elections in the South East. But just to reiterate. If you are in South East London, please go to Dartford, Medway or Thanet. In South London, Brighton and Hove and West London, Slough. For more details, please contact the South East Regional Office at southeast@labour.org.uk

Would also make sense to use people who don't want / wish to travel to work as phone canvassers

Good spot Luke
When we have council by-elections up here it has not been easy to find the details. Anyone in the NW with no local seats in play (as if!) - but there are key seats in Mcr like Chorlton, Burnage, Longsight, Whaley Range and the two Gortons where assistance would be appreciated. The same goes for Liverpool where the Lib Dems are on the rack. northwest@new.labour.org.uk.

Come along to London Young Labour's Ring 'n' Win sessions in 39 Victoria Street! You're more than welcome! We have had 4 sessions so far and turnout has been OK. We're holding Ring 'n' Win every Tuesday and Thursday (7pm until 8.30pm) until May 3rd.
LYL has also joined forces with Labour Students for day trips outside London, and again anyone is welcome to come along! We're going to Brighton tomorrow (Wednesday) meeting at 11am at Brighton Train Station. We're also going to Dartford on Saturday - meet at Dartford Train Station at 11am and Slough on Sunday - meet at Slough Train Station at 11.15am.

when you've finished with the May 3th locals, you should all go to Brent for a byelection in late May in a LD/Lab marginal (LD councillor disqualified)

Yeah, the picture's much better. You don't look like that caretaker any more - should have done it ages ago!

The Labour party have set up all members with individual websites. Please use and click onto pin2win. It would help if CLP could post what they have going on in their area.
