GMB backs Hain

The Deputy Leadership just got even more difficult to call, as Peter Hain, who had been viewed as running at the back of the field, tonight picked up the endorsement of the GMB, one of the largest affiliates, who will now encourage their members to vote for him.

What are they thinking?

Still, great news about CWU Conference overwhelmingly overturning the Exec's outrageous decision to nominate Johnson, ay Luke?

Luke do you think the lateness of nominations for Hain (GMB) and Johnson (Unison) will limit their impact, considering ballot papers go out this week?

GMB website claims they will have an endorsement letter in with the ballot paper.

My guess is that many union members will sensibly ignore the endorsement and back Cruddas.

Hain was backed by ASLEF.Also several McDonnell MPs, including one who switched from Cruddas.
My guess is that many union members will follow suit.
Hain is far better known than Cruddas.
