Boris on Black

Boris Johnson has been taking time out from his Mayoral campaign to provide a character reference for Conrad Black:

not unlike this previous episode in the Boris saga really:

What's this got to do with current events?

Is it true you are Hackney Council's version of going from being Stalin to Mr Bean? Hahahahahaha.

It was in the paper yesterday - and it's about a man who wants to be Mayor of London writing character references for a fraudster. Pretty topical I would say.

It's in the Evening Standard (or at least the first edition today).

Hague has provided the paper with his character reference but Johnson hasn't so far.

Pretty amazing that Johnson is commenting on issues relating to law and order whilst writing character references for a fraudster.

I suppose this is better than Boris providing the home details of a journalist so that a fraudster can beat him up. I suppose he's going in the right direction in that respect.

Some MPs have put a motion down in parliament about this now - looks like it's causing a bit of a row.
